General Manager – Cindy Rota
Cindy Rota is a Licensed Practical Nurse with a Diploma in Gerontology and a background in acute care, senior’s long-term care and senior’s supportive living. Cindy has worked as a Director of Care at several retirement communities in Calgary, including Whitehorn Village, but was promoted to the role of General Manager in April 2005 due to her outstanding abilities with staff, residents and their families.

Cindy is dedicated to senior’s housing and health care and believes in the concept of aging-in-place. She and her staff are focused on helping seniors improve their quality of life and maintaining their independence as long as possible while living at Whitehorn Village.

Cindy received her LPN certification from Okanagan College in 1983 and graduated from the Gerontology program at Mount Royal College where she received the Norville-York Scholarship for academic achievement and contribution to seniors in Calgary.

Formerly Director of Care at Whitehorn Village but due to her strong leadership skills and abilities is now leading the team at Whitehorn Village. Cindy ensures that the Company’s core philosophies are delivered in the most comprehensive and professional manner possible.

Gurleen Gill, Health Services Supervisor
Gurleen Gill is the Health Services Supervisor at Whitehorn Village. She is responsible for the safety and security of residents each and every day and has been with Whitehorn Village since it opened.

Gurleen obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse Diploma from Bow Valley College in 1999 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from PB University in India. Before joining Whitehorn Village, she was Health Services Assistant at another Calgary retirement home and has also worked as a Medical Office Assistant in British Columbia.

Gurleen is a compassionate, caring individual who ensures that the residents at Whitehorn receive excellent care.

Origin is the management company entrusted by the owners of Whitehorn Village since opening to oversee day-to-day operations. Origin’s operational philosophies and staff training systems are the result of some 20 years of experience in the senior’s housing industry. We take a wholistic approach where each resident is nurtured both body and soul. We listen and work closely with each resident and their family to help craft solutions that are centred on individual needs and desires.
